The course delves into the European and national sources of market regulation, examining both vertically regulated sectors (banks, insurance, financial markets, energy, communications, etc.) and horizontally regulated sectors (competition, consumer protection, personal data protection) to assess the impact of the digital transition on them. The focus is particularly on innovation as a driver of market evolution and the role of law in this process. Special emphasis is given to digital platforms, blockchain and smart contracts, artificial intelligence, and the applicable regulations.
